Jacobite Event

Evening of Celtic Music – Saturday, March 26, 2022

Enjoy the traditional roots of Scottish music as we guide you through a musical history of the Jacobites. This year Green Mt. Celts will share a bit of history of the failed 1745 Jacobite Rebellion, a turning point in British history. Believing the British throne to be his birthright, Charles Edward Stuart, aka ‘Bonnie Prince Charlie’, planned to invade Great Britain along with his Jacobite followers and remove the Hanoverian ‘usurper’ George II.  Although the rebellion failed, it left in its wake a treasure trove of music, both humorous and tragic.
